Auckland Art Gallery

Auckland Art Gallery has undergone recent renovations and is now one of Auckland's top destinations for tourists. Exhibiting a wide range of local and international artworks, the gallery offers free entry and tours and is a worthwhile visit for any travellers with an interest in art. While you’re in the area enjoy a stroll through Auckland University's Albert Park, located just behind Auckland Art Gallery,home to beautiful gardens and often frequented by students of Auckland University, on the right day you may discover some live jazz being played in the rotunda.


Auckland Museum

Built atop one of Auckland's ancient dormant volcanos, the Auckland War Memorial Museum not only offers tourists a chance to discover Auckland's heritage and modern international exhibitions, the grounds also offer a wonderful view over the Waitemata Harbour and Auckland City. Take a stroll away from the museum and you will discover acres of park complete with ponds, winter garden, rose gardens and shading trees - a great spot for picnics!


Elliot Stables

You'll need to eat something during your rainy day adventures, and if your in the CBD area, Elliot Stables is a wonderful place to do so! Located in the base of a historic Edwardian style building on Elliot Street, the dimly lit space offers an upmarket dining hall with a range of wonderful restaurants surrounding the dining room.


MOTAT - Museum of Transport & Technology

The largest museum of its kind in New Zealand, MOTAT showcases the development of transporation and technology in an interactive medium. Kelly Tarltons Sea Life Aquarium

Set on the waterfront of Auckland City on Okahu Bay, just moments from the famous Mission Bay beach, Kelly Tarlton's Sea Life Aquarium is one of Auckland's top attractions! Kelly Tarlton's showcases over 30 live animal exhibits in spectacular habitat displays, including the world's largest and amazing underwater viewing tunnels.

Look no further than Newmarkets Olympic Pools aka The Olympic, is home to indoor pool, gym, spa, sauna, great for entertainment and/or fitness. Built originally in the 1940's for the commonwealth games and recently renovated into a state of the art facilitiy, The Olympic is a wonderful choice for those looking for something to do on  a rainy day.


Newmarket 10 Pin Bowling

Hidden at the top of a public car park, the Newmarket 10 pin Bowling centre is one of Auckland' stop hidden gems. Classic 10 Pin Bowling fun with the added bonus of large projection screens above the lanes as well as a range of arcade games and Pool Tables, this is as a wonderful spot for some rainy day fun..


Ponsonby Central

Easily accessible via the Link Bus, Ponsonby Central is a hub of contemporary relaxed dining. Offering a range of restaurant and bar options - Burger Burger provides some of the citys finest burgers, Dantes Pizza are masters of the woodfired pizza oven and  Bedford Soda & Liquor offer a great selection of cocktails and fine spirits. Wander the facility and you will find more great dining choices such as Argentinian BBQ,  Mexican, Japanese, French and modern New Zealand food.


Ponsonby International Food Court

If your budget doesn't quite stretch so contemporary dining, Ponsonby International Foodcourt is a great choice if you're in Ponsonby. This Auckland insititution showcases our diverse culture through budet friendly food selections, with many asian nations represented as well as a Turkish offering. Affordable alcoholic and non-alcholoic beverages are offered at the central bar. A short walk from a Link Bus Stop, head up the stairs next to the Ponsonby Pool Hall. 


Uptown Bounce

Part of the recent trampoline craze sweeping the city's young - this is a great destination for those travelling with kids - or for those looking to get some exercise in! Located inside the Cameo Theatre, built in the early 20th Century, Uptown Bounce is an indoor trampoline park that is a great place to head on a rainy day.
