What is an Apartment Hotel?

Apartment Hotels offer self-contained accommodation, with separate bedrooms, plus kitchen and laundry facilities, and may not have some of the services of a traditional hotel, such as room service, daily housekeeping, and on-site restaurants or bars.

Travellers prefer apartment hotels, which is a serviced apartment style, for a number of reasons:

  • Privacy & Escape - Separate bedrooms allow privacy and quiet from your travel mates. Weekly housekeeping services mean you will be left to sleep, without disturbance.
  • Great Value - With rates comparable to traditional hotels, guests can save significantly on their food costs by utilizing our great kitchen facilities - rather than pricey room service or minibars.
  • Spaciousness - Our apartments are much bigger than many hotel rooms - open plan living and separate bedrooms make our apartments much more usable than traditional hotel rooms.

  • We use refillable soap containers in our bathrooms in many of our properties - saving over 200,000 miniature soap and shampoo bottles from being created, every year!
    Self-catering means guests can shop to personal preference of ingredients for your meals, to limit plastic usage or to purchase locally made produce, just like you do at home.

What is Express Check-Out

Save time checking out with our Express Check-Out service - Available at select Waldorf Apartment locations.  How to enjoy an Express Check-Out:

  • Settle your bill with Reception the night before you check out, or agree to let us charge any outstanding incidentals to your credit card on file
  • Complete the Express Check information, found inside your Express Check-Out envelope inside your apartment.
  • Leave your Express Check-Out hanger on the outside of your apartment door
  • Place your room keys in the Express Check-Out envelope and place it in the Express Check-Out box next to Reception

Express Check-Out is only available at Waldorf Stadium, Waldorf St Martins, Waldorf Celestion & Waldorf Tetra

Can I park my motorhome, caravan, boat or trailer?
Please enquire with individual properties direct. We may not have the space available but can recommend you alternative parking sites.

Do you offer free WiFi or internet access?
Free internet (WiFi or cabled) is offered for all bookings made direct on the hotel’s website. Data limits may apply.

Can I host a party, stag or hens do in a Waldorf Apartment?
Waldorf Apartments are committed to offering our guests peaceful accommodation. As such, we operate a no-noise policy after 10pm with a strict no-party policy. However, some of our properties have an onsite restaurant and meeting rooms which can accommodate private functions. 

Do you offer Airport Transfers?
We do not offer Airport Transfers - However, we do recommend SuperShuttle as a reliable and cost-effective airport transport service, please book directly by visiting their website or by calling (NZ toll free) 0800 SHUTTLE or 09-522-5100.
Alternatively, SkyBus offers buses between Auckland Airport and Auckland CBD, every 10 minutes during peak times - $18 each way.
If you prefer a private taxi service, we recommend Auckland Co-Op Taxis (blue bubble) for a reliable, quality service. Hail a taxi at the Airport or in the city, or call 09-300-3000.

Do you have Conference or Meeting facilities?
No. However many guests use our apartments for small meetings. Living Areas and dining tables serve as great locations for meetings - apartments have wifi, electricity, tea & coffee facilities, kitchens for catering and bathrooms. and the bedrooms can be closed off. Balconies serve as break-out spaces, and nearby restaurants and public spaces can be utilised for business purposes - we recommend Waldorf Stadium’s Two Bedroom Junior Suite as it is our largest apartment.

Daily rates are not available and usual check-in and check-out times apply - so two days accommodation may need to be booked for meeting purposes during usual business hours.

Can I extend my booking?
Extensions of stays are subject to hotel availability. In some cases, the rate may change. Please contact our reservations team for more information

How often are the apartments serviced?
If you are staying consecutively for more than 7 days we will service your apartment each week. This weekly service includes a change of bed linen, fresh toweling and a vacuum and dust.

As serviced apartments - we do not offer daily housekeeping, which allows us to offer competitive rates and provides our guests with ultimate privacy and minimal disturbances.

Additional servicing is offered at our premium locations: Waldorf Stadium, Waldorf St Martins and Waldorf Celestion. For an additional charge your apartment can be serviced more frequently - please inquire with our Reservations team or at Front Desk.

Is there a minimum stay?
Waldorf Newhaven has a minimum stay of 7 nights - all other properties can be booked for stays of 1 night or more.

What fees do you charge for booking with Credit Card?
0% credit card fees for all direct bookings. All bookings made through 3rd parties will incur a 2% processing fee.

Do you have gym facilities?
Onsite gym facilities are available at: Waldorf Stadium, Waldorf St Martins, Waldorf Tetra and Waldorf Newhaven. Guests staying at Waldorf Stadium, Waldorf Celestion and Waldorf On Scene also have access to LifeStyle Fitness Professional Gym, Swimming Pool & Tennis Court

Do you allow pets?
Only service animals are permitted in Waldorf Apartments.

Do you offer accommodation close to Spark Arena?
Waldorf Stadium is just 2 minutes walk from Spark Arena for concerts and events. If Waldorf Stadium is full, our other CBD locations aren’t too far from the venue.

Check-In/ Check-Out – What do I need to know? 

Do I need to provide ID?
A valid photograph ID is required at check-in.

Is there any age restrictions?
All registered guests must be 18 years old or over.

Do I need to provide a bond?
A $50 hold is placed on a credit card of your choice at the time of check-in to act as a bond to cover any damage or outstanding charges found after check-out. If not used, held funds will become available within 10 days of check out. Alternatively, a $500 cash bond can be paid at check-in which will be released after inspecting your apartment.

Can I check-in early and check-out late?
We guarantee a 3pm check-in time, and no earlier, as we need time to clean your apartment after the last guest. We can store your bags for you until your room is ready and will let you know if your room becomes available before 3pm. To guarantee availability you may book your apartment for the day prior to your arrival - please note Waldorf Stadium and Waldorf St Martins are the only locations with a 24hr Reception.

How do I make a reservation for large groups?
For group enquiries of 10 or more rooms, please email groups@waldorf.co.nz about your request, including dates, rooms required and hotel/location.

Do I need a credit card to make a booking?
Yes, a valid credit card is required to guarantee your booking. 
If the rate you are booking required prepayment, this will be charged at the time of booking. All other rates are charged at time of check-in via Cash, EFTPOS or a Credit Card of your choice, with any additional charges being settled at time of check-out.

How do I make special requests regarding my stay?

What is the cancellation and amendment policy? 

General Cancellation Policy

The general cancellation policy will only apply when indicated. We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice prior to the date of arrival for all cancellations or amendments to accommodation reservations. Failure to provide the specified notice will result in you being charged a one nights accommodation cancellation fee. For bookings of 7 days or longer, a one week’s cancellation fee will apply. Please note that no refund will be given in the event of a guest’s non arrival on the specified date.

Promotional Cancellation Policy

For all Advance Purchase, Hot Deals, Stay 2 & Save, Stay 3 & Save, 7nights min and any other bookings that state: ‘Advance Purchase Policy Applies’, must be fully pre-paid at the time of booking and are not subject to cancellation or amendments. Any cancellations made will not be refunded and any amendments will be subject to additional fees. In the result of exceptional circumstances such as cancelled flights, injury that prevents travel or death, Waldorf may refund reservations or offer credit on supply of proof of circumstance. Waldorf Apartments must operate within the Consumer Guarantees Act and the Fair Trading Act.
